Ugh. The Karate Kid Remake Keeps Getting Made

Published by timfalletti at 12:59 am under Entertainment, Movies Edit This

It’s been two months since it was confirmed that The Karate Kid remake was actually being developed and that Will Smith’s kid Jaden would play the Daniel Larusso role.  If that isn’t bad enough to make you want to boycott Hollywood forever, here is even more pathetic news.  Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Jackie Chan will play the Mr. Miyagi role and that Pink Panther 2 director Harold Zwart would helm the “remake”.

So you have Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan, and the director of the Pink Panther 2.  Way to rape my childhood Hollywood.  Columbia Pictures, which is funding this inevitable train wreck, should really really really look themselves in the mirror and just walk away.  The Karate Kid is an untouchable movie.  You don’t remake three movies in this world.  The Wizard of Oz, The Karate Kid, and Back To The Future.  They are fine the way they are.

Ugh.  Please let me wake up from this nightmare.

Jackie Chan Mr. Miyagi

You’re such a pessimist. When has Jackie Chan ever made a crappy movie? I mean, besides The Tuxedo, Around the World in 90 Days, Shanghai Knights, Rush Hour 3, and countless others?

Haha it’s a good thing I read the whole comment and not just the first sentence or else this could have gotten ugly.
