The Dark Knight Oscar Watch - DarkCampaign.com
It’s no secret that we here at S&E loved the crap out The Dark Knight. It was by far the best movie of 2008. That’s saying a lot because there were very very good films this year. It’s also no surprise that many people share the same sentiment. (A billion dollar box-office also proves this fact).
Well someone finally took matters into their own hands and did what most of us thought should be done. Started a grass roots campaign for The Dark Knight to get nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Oscars.
The great fan-made website darkcampaign.com is doing just that. It’s trying to get legions and legions of fans to post links, stories, and anything they can to get the academy to notice that The Dark Knight at least needs a nomination. It would be very rare for it to happen, not only because it’s a summer blockbuster which rarely gets nominated, but it’s also a sequel…..and a comic book movie. That sounds like three strikes to me. But knowing what I know about these rabid Dark Knight fans, I can say that anything is possible.
Head on over to www.darkcampaign.com and sign up and show your allegiance and get the ball rolling. Because really how cool would it be to see Christopher Nolan accept an Oscar for Best Picture?
