There are movies that need to be remade, and there are movies that are so timeless….so classic, that they should never even think about being touched again.  Karate Kid is one of those great movies that doesn’t need an update.  It doesn’t need to be revived, renewed, redone, re-anything.  But those cooky unoriginal Hollywood people think the demand is there for an all new Karate Kid.  Unfortunately, it looks as though this is taking a big step forward too.  Jaden Smith - Will Smith’s son - has officially signed on to play the Ralph Macchio character.  (I know Jaden is like 10 years old.  It doesn’t make sense).  He will be doing the crane kick.  He will be fighting the Cobra Kai.  He will has his leg swept.

The only way this will be even REMOTELY good, is if the bring back Daniel in the role of a Mr. Myagi type character to train little Will Smith.  Even then…..it will still probably be horrible.  Hopefully, they go another route and not make it serious like Karate Kid was.  Hopefully, they go all Disney on it and make it for small children.  Either way, a new Karate Kid is a horrible idea.
