Fake Flash Trailer - But Real Demand

Published by timfalletti at 5:19 pm under Entertainment, Movies Edit This

You might have already seen the trailer for a new Flash movie that is running its way through the internet.  In it,  a disclaimer says that whoever captured the trailer on a grainy hand held camera was at a top secret screening of Watchmen.  Well, the great folks over at Slashfilm have already debunked the trailer saying that there is no official reports of any trailers -let alone Flash- running before the movie.

While the naked eye can tell it’s a little low budget, the trailer itself is nothing to really laugh at.  It’s visuals may be low yes, but the essence of the character was caught perfectly. The music was dead on, and when the Flash’s symbol is revealed at the end, you almost wish it was real.  So that begs the question why isn’t there a Flash movie yet?

Rumor mills were flying last year when Ryan “Lucky Bastard married to Scarlett Johanssen” Reynolds expressed interest in the role.  Fanboys knew it was perfect casting and it was just a matter of a decent script and director that would determine how happy they could get.  Somewhere along the line, everything got screwed up, and it seemed as if the Flash would be forever banished to development hell.

Then came this trailer.  This trailer could quite possibly put the burning question back into the minds of these Hollywood producers.  The Flash is a perfect character to bring to the big screen.  Let’s look at last summer.  How many people honestly gave a crap about Iron Man?  Not many.  But a great story, incredible casting of Robert Downey Jr., and a great director made it one of the best super hero flicks of all time.  Now, depending on what incarnation of the Flash you use (And it better well be Wally West) there is no reason a Flash movie couldn’t strike that lightning in a bottle too.  The studios are looking for a payday coming of the incredibleness that was The Dark Knight, so why not Flash?

Here’s the trailer.  Tell me your opinion.

Not a bad teaser trailer at all. I agree that it would probably do very well in Iron Man-fashion. Of course, as soon as they do confirm production, I’ll be starting my petition for a Green Lantern film.
