Dark Knight Sequel Casting Rumors?!
With it’s third straight victory at the weekend box office, The Dark Knight is poised to overtake every movie except Titanic for best domestic box office. So, the inevitable sequel rumors are already flowing throughout the interwebs, and I am here to tell you one thing: Don’t believe any of them!
Johnny Depp as the Riddler?! Angelina Jolie as Catwoman? Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin? All rumors established by the FAA. (Fanboy Association of America). The only legitimate rumor is Jolie who publicly said she would love to play the role. Other than that? All rubbish.
Truth is, director Christopher Nolan hasn’t even signed on for the third movie yet, and until that is completed, don’t expect any announcements any time soon. Nolan’s brother and co-writer of The Dark Knight, Jonathan Nolan is currently hard at work on Terminator Salvation so don’t except anything in the script department either.
I recommend soaking in the brilliance of The Dark Knight a second or third (or fourth) time and hungerly wait for the DVD. Until a stone cold solid announcement, treat everything you hear as rumor.
